Discussion Document for:
The Maryland
Student Affairs Conference
with MaryBeth Hyland
Zimri,
It was a gift to connect with you and your intentions for this upcoming 49th Maryland Student Affairs Conference. As promised, below is an overview of our conversation today.
There have been a series of experiences that created disconnect and poor morale amongst staff. As such, there is a desire for Maryland Student Affairs to create a sense of community to find the roots that bind everyone together. To create spaces where people feel heard and empowered to be a part of the community.
MaryBeth will customize her keynote based on her first-hand experience leading culture shifts with four University Student Affairs teams and your values of Community, Equity & Social Justice, Learning & Growth, Inclusive Excellence, Innovation and Integrity. She will inspire your team by teaching them how to embrace their well-being and move forward in alignment with their core values by giving themselves and others permission to be human.
She will ensure that staff from all levels, tenure and experience leave empowered to know, own and live their values each day. Ultimately helping you create a united values-driven culture where everyone can thrive within the community and beyond.
We look forward to continuing the conversation.
Best,
James Hyland
